It assembles a comprehensive collection of normative acts, court decisions, legal literature, legal drafts, and other sources of law in a single location, making the original texts of early laws and information on their application easily accessible to anyone who would like to learn about them.

The journal “Cracow Studies of Constitutional and Legal History” publishes articles and dissertations by historians of both law and of political and legal doctrines from Polish and foreign academic centres. The intention of the editors and creators of the publication was to establish a venue for the publication of the results of research conducted in the broad fields of the history of law, the history of the state, and the history of political and legal doctrines. The journal also contains a reviews section and a chronicle of academic events. Among other things, the studies are indexed in the SCOPUS database.
