On 26-28 May 2021, an interdisciplinary online conference took place at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University: “Legal Heritage – Ideas, research, education”. Researchers from numerous Polish academic institutions participated in the conference. The first part of the conference was a debate on: "What is legal heritage?" In which Dr. Hab. Iwona Barwicka-Tylek (UJ), Dr. Hab. Karol Łopatecki (UwB), and Prof. Dr. Hab. Kamil Zeildler (UG) participated as panellists.
The conference was organised by the working group 'Legal Heritage'. We would like to thank especially Drs. Anna Ceglarska, Mariusz Krawczyk, and Bohdan Widła.
Conference materials were published in issues 3 (2022) and 4 (2022) of the journal "Krakow Studies in the History of State and Law".
A research group meeting entitled Religious Freedom: Comparing Transatlantic Approaches was held from May 16-17, 2023, co-sponsored by the Harvard Religious Freedom Clinic and the Department of Roman Law at the Jagiellonian University, with support provided by the ID.UJ Priority Heritage Research Area of the Faculty of Law and Administration within the Transatlantic Research Group on the Law and Freedom of Religion.
The meeting took place in the Larisch Palace and in the Michal Bobrzynski Hall in Collegium Maius.
The session was divided into four panels, which dealt with: religious law and institutions, the protection of the rights of religious people, the relationship between freedom of speech and freedom of religion, and the protection of freedom of religion in relation to other protected values.
The first day of the meeting was opened by the Dean of the Jagiellonian University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Prof. Jerzy Pisulinski, and the second day was opened by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of the Jagiellonian University, Prof. Dorota Malec. Participants also attended a lecture by US Ambassador to Poland Marek Brzezinski.

The opening keynote speech was given by Prof. Ruth Okediji of Harvard Law School.Speakers at the meeting were Kelsey M. Flores, Parker Knight, Joshua C. McDaniel, Matthew E. Myath, Ruth Okediji of Harvard Law School, Eric C. Rassbach of Becket Fund/Pepperdine University School of Law, David Magalhães of Coimbra University, and Grzegorz Blicharz, Andrzej Bryk, Franciszek Longchamps de Bérier and Maciej Mikuła of Jagiellonian University.
Each panel ended with a discussion, which more than once also included representatives of the academic community present at the meeting: academics, doctoral students and students.
